2017 'Harmony' Concert in St Paul's

2017 'Harmony' Concert in St Paul's

Women of Note is the performing name of The Central Victorian Women's Choir Inc.  Under the talented and generous direction of Laura Dusseljee, the choir has grown from strength to strength and has developed a reputation for performance excellence.  They sing an eclectic range of songs - contemporary, pop, show tunes, gospel, sacred and classical.

This dynamic choir has a membership of around 60 women who meet weekly to share a love of singing and performing together.  This fosters deep respect and camaraderie and many lasting friendships have been formed.  Women of Note love performing and they are regularly heard at community events such as Relay for Life, Mia Mia Big Sing and Bendigo Health's Memorial Services.  They were honoured to sing at the opening of Bendigo's stunning Ulumbarra Theatre in 2015, as well as giving a concert at Tarrengower Women's Prison.

We are a non-auditioning choir and always looking for new members (over 18 years).  Please contact our secretary for further information.

In October 2017, Women of Note hosted a combined concert with Mark O'Leary's talented young adult choir, 'Exaudi' from Melbourne.  They were also thrilled to be invited to participate in the Voices of Women Choral Festival, hosted by Melbourne Women's Choir.  Plans are already underway for 2018 performances - keep checking our Events Page for details!

Rehearsals are held at The Salvation Army Hall, 65-71 Mundy St Bendigo, from 6:45 until 9:00 on Wednesday evenings during school terms.  Women of Note has an inclusive policy of membership.  No audition is necessary and any woman over 18 years is welcome.  There may be a waiting list due to the choir's popularity, so please ring our secretary for further information.
