Festival of Voices Hobart July 4 - 8 2024
The festival actually runs from 28 June until 7 July 2024, however our choir group trip is from Thursday 4 July – Mon 8 July.
We have 45 people booked to go in the tour package, including 32 WON singers (plus 2 WON singers travelling independently).

What we know about Women of Note’s program:
We are excited to know that we are performing at Hobart Town Hall on Friday 5th July in Voices@5 with Augusta Singers https://festivalofvoices.com/2024_event/voices5-augusta-singers-and-women-of-note/
Saturday 6th July morning we will be travelling (in a FOV supplied bus) to Willie Smith’s Apple Shed for a pop-up performance.
Sunday 7th July we have been offered & accepted (but not confirmed yet by FOV) the workshop/rehearsal with Paul Jarman for a massed choir performance in the Grand Finale Concert at the Federation Concert Hall.
As soon Women of Note’s program has been confirmed (expecting it will be early May) we will let you know.
Thank you for the payments received. All invoices for tour payments have now been sent out with final payments due Wednesday 17th April.
As indicated below you need to arrange your own transport to and from Melbourne Airport.
Murene has researched the Bendigo Airport bus as one option.
Cost is $110 return. The bus leaves from Bendigo Railway Station. On 4 July the bus that departs at 6 am will arrive at the airport at 8 am. The next bus is too late - it departs at 8 am and arrives at 10 am = too late for our flight at 10.40. On 8 July there is a bus that leaves the airport at 6.30 pm (we should land at 4.50) that arrives in Bendigo at 8.30 pm.
Not the most convenient of timetables, but the service is convenient.
Payments
Group prices include 4 nights apartment accommodation in central Hobart, return flights Melbourne to Hobart with Virgin Airlines and bus transfers to and from Hobart airport.
The final payment is due 17 April. If you can pay earlier that would be appreciated.
Accommodation
Both accommodation sites are very central to the Waterfront and CBD. Sullivan’s Cove IXL Apartments and Old Woolstore Apartment Hotel are both within 5-10 mins walk of the festival venues and it’s all flat walking- no hills!

o Virgin Airlines – departing Hobart 8/7/24 at 15:35 to arrive Melbourne 16:50
Please arrange your own transport to and from Melbourne Airport.
Travel Insurance
Please make your own arrangements in regard to travel insurance.
Registrations
The choir has been registered, however each participant also needs to register as an individual. Individual Registrations of $165, plus a $5 booking fee are online and open now. Registrations close: 31 May 2024.

What to do:
From their home page, select ‘Program’, then ‘Choir packages’ then ‘Touring choirs’.
Click on ‘REGISTER HERE’. It will take you through to the checkout where you enter your credit card details.
After you’ve paid, they will send you an email with a link to a form where you enter the name of our choir and other details.
Once you’ve registered, please let Deborah know so that she can cross-check with the Festival of Voices admin team. An email to her current address is available under Announcements for February 28, on the Members Page which is secure, Please DO NOT use Deborah’s old work address that ended @bendigo.vic.gov.au

Festival Program
Choirs participating in the festival have a program worked around their choir. It will include a couple of performances, (one concert with a local choir), pop- up performances and access to the Singers’ Lounge. The festival organisers will have the choir programs available in April 2024. We will let you know!
The only workshop coinciding with our time at the festival is a three-day one. And given the array of activities we could be involved in we suggest that participating in that workshop, would not be the most effective use of your time.
